Project Details

Peltz mixed and paved 8,725 CY of 17.5″ and 15″ RCC pavement for the Rail – Truck Transload facility. Despite the cement shortage, Peltz battled to complete the project in ten paving days, averaging almost 900 CY per day. To meet the challenge with cement supply,  Peltz staged four pigs on-site to provide flexibility for the cement haulers.

RCC was selected for this project as a bid alternative to 15″ and 17.5″ of reinforced concrete pavement, resulting in a cost savings of around 20%.

The Rail-Truck Transload facility will provide more efficient freight movement and aid in decongesting the interstate system.
