Project Details

Because of its superior performance under heavy wheel loads and in difficult operating conditions, RCC was first used for heavy-duty applications such as log handling yards, intermodal terminals, and freight depots. In recent decades, its use has expanded to create cost-effective pavements for many conventional highway and street applications.

For a project completed in 2025 in Park City, Kansas, Andale Construction, Inc. utilized RCC to construct commercial and residential streets within a new development. The Park Centre infrastructure project, which will bring value and growth to businesses and future residents, covered a substantial 6,000 cubic yards. RCC’s fast and economical traits kept Andale’s workers on schedule and on budget. With construction taking place during the winter months, project phasing and accommodating subcontractors’ schedules was a challenge. RCC, which is faster to place than conventional concrete and can also be quickly opened to traffic, helped meet the project’s scheduling challenges. Using RCC created tough, durable and structurally sound paving that will keep Park City drivers safe for years to come.
