Project Summary
A.G. Peltz Group has paved over 2 million square yards of Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) at the Honda Plant in Lincoln, AL, including the logistics and RCX facilities. Since the inaugural project in 2000, RCC has been the chosen pavement solution for its durability and cost-effectiveness, providing an estimated 30% savings compared to asphalt.
The RCC installations have included 5” and 7” thick pavement for primary paving areas and 4” of Cement Treated Base (CTB) in most areas of the Line Two expansion. The RCC was used as a laydown area for two just-in-time warehouses, completed with Vogele and ABG Titan pavers and mixed on-site with an ARAN 280C pugmill. Vulcan Materials supplied the aggregate, while National Cement provided the cement. This extensive work has made the Honda Plant one of the largest RCC paving projects in the U.S.
