Project Details

Commerce Center Site EG-1 in Laredo, Texas, presents the structural and thermal demands typical of South Texas industrial development. The facility faces intense operational challenges, including heavy freight loading, extreme heat and a long-term ownership horizon. To meet these rigorous demands, the project team utilized a robust concrete solution for the new industrial site.

Andale Construction, Inc. placed 121,459 square yards of 7-inch thick Roller-Compacted Concrete (RCC) to cover approximately 25 acres of the property. The RCC section delivers the necessary load-bearing capacity and surface stability required for sustained logistics operations. By choosing this durable material, the facility completely eliminates the rutting and frequent maintenance cycles normally associated with asphalt in high-temperature climates. The rugged pavement ensures the site will remain operational and cost-effective under the intense Texas sun and constant heavy traffic.
