The overarching guiding principle of the Roller Compacted Concrete Pavement Research Committee in conducting research is to listen to our clients and members, prioritize research needs, collaborate with partner organizations, and hire the most qualified researchers to manage and execute the work.
Roller Compacted Concrete Pavement Council Research Committee
OUR MISSION is to improve the quality of Roller Compacted Concrete paving and increase its use through credible research focusing on providing answers and finding solutions for the most pressing questions about RCC pavements.
RCC Pavement Research Committee Guidelines:
- We will collaborate with partner organizations, government agencies and private industries to pool funds, design and conduct research programs.
- We will avoid duplication of efforts with our partner organizations as much as possible.
- We will consider RCC pavements market trends and various applications ranging from light-duty streets, roads and parking lots to heavy duty commercial and industrial applications.
RCC Pavement Research Committee Activities:
- Evaluate and document the performance of existing Roller Compacted Concrete pavements
- Identify industry knowledge gaps
- Prioritize research needs
- Maintain relationships with industry stakeholders and work with them to pool research funds for mutual benefit
- Hire qualified researchers and manage the design of research/testing programs
- Oversee the developments of deliverables
- Produce research documents and make them available on the Council’s website and distribute copies to RCC pavement stakeholders
- Conduct technical training sessions and exhibit at regional and national conferences and meetings
